SOME COACH HISTORY

We love this Born Free, we are only selling it to buy a different model of Born Free!

We are the fourth owners.  The original owner had it until 2019. He sold it to another man who only had it for a few months before his health conditions precluded camping. He sold it to a person who lives outside Boston in February 2021. She had it for only a few months before she decided it was just "more rig" than she felt comfortable in (she had upgraded from a towable A-frame). She sold it to us in the summer of 2021. I can provide the CarFax report that shows the owners.

We had it inspected before our purchase, and we're happy to provide the inspection report. We don't believe there was ever a smoker using this coach and there was no visible water damage of any kind.  Since we've owned it, it's been stored inside each winter, in a sparkling clean facility with concrete floors. We've never had a mouse or other pest incursion (Knock on wood!). We have the original owners manual and all receipts since we have owned it. We're happy to accommodate an inspector--we are about 30 miles east of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

I can easily drive this and feel like it is a cargo van. It has a rear-view camera (on all the time, not just when backing) and great sight lines. This coach is a perfect size for two people (and in our case, two beagles). You can park it on a city street, and easily navigate narrow roads.

To see more about general Born Free history, and learn why Born Free owners are so loyal, check out Why Born Free?

We've made a lot of repairs to the rig itself, as did the previous owner. You can see all that information listed in the section Maintenance & Repairs.

We've also made many changes to the interior cosmetics. Note that MOST (BUT NOT ALL) OF THE COSMETIC CHANGES CAN BE EASILY REVERSED--it is all peel and stick tile and wall paper and we have the original parts (doors etc.) to put it all back to original. You can see more details on that in the section Cosmetic Changes.

Also, check out the More Photos page for more photos!!

THE WHOLE PACKAGE!

This is the original ground plan for the model. It is accurate EXCEPT:

--both couches are replaced by the items we explain in the Cosmetic Changes section which results in two twin size beds BUT also has the option of easily restoring the port side day bed into a cafe booth.

--we have replaced this pivoting table with an EZ-Reach pivoting table which can move to multiple locations, you can see it in the More Photos page. (note: all hardware is included but the table top is not part of the sale).

--the cooktop burners are placed 90 degrees from as shown

KNOWN ISSUES

UPDATE 2/24

At the request of a potential buyer we have had a pre-purchase inspection performed which revealed an oil seal leak and a cracked bolt in the manifold. They have been repaired.

ORIGINAL INFORMATION

The exhaust pipes have quite a bit of rust on them (they were like that when we bought it) and while there are no system leaks and it is not noisy, it is something we would replace if we were keeping it

There is a missing piece of hardware on the door to the black water hose in
the bumper. It stays closed when underway, but it is not latched.

The weather stripping around the cabin screen door needs to be replaced.

There is a screen missing from one of the large cabin windows. I have sourced and priced a replacement at about $200.

The back driver side mudflap is cracked and should be replaced

The shower/sink diverter is hard to make work, and once working it still dribbles a bit into the sink. It needs a new faucet/diverter installed. We ran the plumbing up through the cabinet and to the sink but didn't find a new faucet we wanted yet.
